The Rev. Dr. Monrelle T. Williams, Rector
The Reverend Doctor Monrelle T. Williams is a native of Barbados, West Indies. His educational accomplishments include the following: a Bachelor's degree (with First Class Honors) in Theology from the University of the West Indies; a Master's Degree in Philosophy (Ecumenism) from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland and a Doctorate degree from Durham University in England.
The Rev. Dr. Williams has been a priest since 1979, initially serving as Assistant Curate at St. John's Parish (in Barbados) before assuming the position as Lecture/Senior Lecturer at Codrington Theological College (Theological Seminary of the Church of the Province of the West Indies).
He has served as General Secretary of the Regional Ecumenical Organization in the West Indies, the Caribbean Conference of Churches for three years. In addition, he has been Priest-in-Charge of the Church of the Holy Cross and then Rector/Priest-in-Charge of the Church of the Holy Trinity.
In terms of Diocesan and Provincial responsibilities, The Rev. Dr. Williams has served on several commissions and committees, including the Provincial Standing, Synod Council, Doctrinal Commission, Commission on Ecumenism as well as the Finance Committee of the Diocese.
He has two sons Ciaran, who accompanied him to Oakland and will be attending college, and Jon, who is in high school in Barbados and plans to join him later.
The Rev. Dr. Monrelle Williams has been involved in the life of the church at every level of church from Sunday School right through to Lay Reader. He believes in a shared ministry and is looking forward to such a ministry at St. Augustine's.

Associate Priests
Fr. Warren Debenham
Fr. Debenham went through high school in San Francisco, he rowed on the Stanford Crew that placed fifth nationally, and attended Seminary at CDSP. He served at Trinity, San Jose as assistant, St. Thomas', Sunnyvale, and St. Alban's, Albany as Rector, and then a neighborhood ministry Oakland. He and his wife Sally have three children.
Fr. Thomas Nsubuga
The Rev. Thomas Timothy Nsubuga is a native of Uganda, East Africa. He is a graduate of Makerere in Uganda with two Bachelor's degrees in Commerce and Divinity. He is also a graduate of Cranmer Theological House in Louisiana with a Master's in Divinity. He is currently pursuing Doctoral research Degree in Religious studies at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies in Oxford, UK. His area of interest is Islam, asking why Christians are choosing to convert to Islam.
Thomas was ordained a priest in Namirembe Diocese, Uganda 10 years ago. Since then, he has served in various places in his diocese, as the diocesan treasurer, Namirembe Diocese, as a curate, a priest-in-charge and as Diocesan Internal Auditor/Diocesan Inspector. He also served as an assistant lecturer in Bishop Tucker Theological College in Mukono.
He is married to Erinah and God has blessed them with two daughters: Joanitah and Leah.
Currently, Thomas works as the associate priest at St. Augustine's. He is also the priest-in-charge of the Ugandan Christians residing in the Bay Area who meet once every month at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church.
Deacon
Rev. Carolyn Bolton
Carolyn Bolton is our homegrown Deacon. She returns to St. Augustine's after an assignment at nearby St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Seminary Interns
Joanna Hollis
Joanna is a 2nd year MDiv. candidate at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific and is from the Diocese of El Camino Real. Raised in Bermuda, Joanna has her Bachelor's degree in Japanese Studies and Sociology-based Human Relations and her Master's in teaching Japanese as a foreign language (MATFL). Her hobbies include knitting, crocheting, beading, singing, reading and going to the gym.
