Sunday School & Youth Education

Lessons and Activities each Sunday for young people aged 5-18. Ask an usher or a person sitting near you to bring you into Trinity Chapel to our schoolroom. We begin at 10:00 and end in time for the young people to join you for communion. Children under 5 welcome with an adult.

 Supply Priest Update

Fr. Thornell with Vestry approval has agreed to serve as St. A's "Long Term Supply" priest until a new rector is called.  He is certainly familiar with the parish and is/will be available for all pastoral duties as before during his previous tenure.  We are glad to have him back!  *:) ~  Jeri Robinson, Sr. Warden

Actor, Director, Humanitarian, Danny Glover To Speak

Award-winning actor, director, and producer Danny Glover will speak Thursday, May 3, 7:00pm, at the Cathedral of the Christ of Light, 2121 Harrison St. in Oakland, presented by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Freedom Center and Peralta Community College District. Glover’s lecture is part of series focused on “Resisting Oppression: Constructing Democracy.”

Religious  Faith And Self-Care Beliefs Study

Local author, UBE member and doctoral candidate Brenda Lane Richardson is seeking African American women, 40 and over, who are willing to let her interview them for a study on Religious Faith and Health. Your answers will remain confidential. After the initial telephone call, those who are a good fit for the study will be invited to join a six-hour Saturday group meeting, where a catered lunch will be served, and then later, for two one-hour check-in meetings, all of them right here at the church. Volunteers will be paid $25 for participating in phone interviews, and $100 for each group meeting, a total of $350. If you’re interested, please speak to her during coffee hour, or leave a message at 510 529-5823 or send her an email: blr256@nyu.edu. Once you and signed up, please respond to her emails to indicate your interest.

 Book Club

The Book Club is underway, meeting on the Third Sunday of each month following the Fellowship Hour at 12:30pm. The Book Club meets next on May 20 to discuss The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead. Join us after church at 12 noon in Trinity. Call Susan at 710-8579 with questions.  

Food Pantry Support Item Of The Week

NEXT WEEK please bring VIENNA SAUSAGES and MAC ‘N CHEESE to support our food pantry ministry. Also, personal hygiene items are needed - toothpaste, tooth brushes and deodorant.
