PARISH NOTES: WEEK OF DECEMBER 2, 2018

Sunday School & Youth Education

Lessons and Activities each Sunday for young people aged 5-18. Ask an usher or a person sitting near you to bring you into Trinity Chapel to our schoolroom. We begin at 10:00 and end in time for the young people to join you for communion. Children under 5 welcome with an adult.

Please don’t forget to turn in your Pledge Cards. Your financial commitment to St. Augustine’s allows us to carry out God’s work in this parish. If you have your card with you, you can give it to Father Thornell or Joseph Dashiell. Thank you for your dedication to St. Augustine’s.

 Legend Of The Dreamcatcher

The beautiful Dreamcatchers hanging in Bakewell Hall were donated by Annetta (Face) Grady.

The Legend: Native Americans of the Great Plains believe the air is filled with both good and bad dreams. According to legend, the good dreams pass through the center hold to the sleeping person. The bad dreams are trapped in the web, where they perish in the light of dawn. Historically, dreamcatchers were hung in the tipi or lodge and on a baby’s cradle board.

Columbarium at St Augustine's

Many have expressed the idea that a Columbarium be placed in the Memorial Garden which is to the left side of the church. A Columbarium is a wall which has niches in which the funeral urns of a loved one can be placed.  If you would like to be part of the committee to plan this effort, please see Fr. Thornell or call the office and leave your name.
