I greet you in the name of Christ the King on this, the Feast Day of the Annunciation when the news of the Incarnation came to Mary.
I pray for each of you every week. I hope this time of ’Shelter in Place’ has provided opportunities to slow down and pray. For example, I enjoy watching sports. Now that there are no sports, I’m trying to use this time to do ‘Centering Prayer’. I sit in a comfortable position and start an eight-minute timer. I breathe in and think, “Lord Jesus Christ” and slowly breathe out saying, “Have mercy on me.”
A great prayer to start your day in these strange times:
“This is another day, O Lord. I know not what it will bring forth, but make me ready, Lord, for whatever it may be. If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely. If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly. If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently. And if I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly. Make these words more than words, and give me the Spirit of Jesus. Amen.”
Health update: I had a phone consultation with my health care provider. Whatever I have is very mild and I just need continued rest and lots of fluids. I am feeling much better! Thank you for your prayers and concerns. I am on the upside and feel good! If you feel symptoms, please contact your health care provider.
Here is the playlist from last Sunday's virtual service. Watch whichever one you need:
